You write it Bottegantiqua, but you read it “old workshop”!
This name wants to emphasise our strong link with ourterritory and its history. Wehaveknownabout local workshops and small shops, where craftsmenhandmade their products, sincethe second half of the 16thcentury.
Therefore, it was an inevitable choicefor us: we decidedto represent our identity through the concept of workshops asplaces of production, trade and centuries-long history, traditions and craft.
Michele Volpinari, a professional and enthusiast optician since 1984, in the early years of 2000s decade, decided to give his customers something different from all the other products on the market. He started to sell refinedly-designedand well-madeniche glasses.
The idea of Bottegantiquacomes from there. In 2008, Michele started to shape it after a long period of research, study and training about eyeglass design and handmadeproduction.
Bottegantiquaglasses are designed and handmade in our workshop in San Marino through along production process including 47 different phases, which make each pair of glasses a precious object in the true sense of the word. Our preciousness is concrete and justified by values and qualitythatgo beyond fashion.
In December 2017, we presented our first glass collection. It is an end point, the result of years of work and study.Butit is also, and above all,a starting point towards constant evolution and research for future production.
